Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Tongass National Forest, Ketchikan, AK

After a dozen years of running kayak tours in Ketchikan, we're consistently surprised at the number of visitors who never set foot in the Rain Forest. Our E-Bike tour originated from a desire to get more visitors into this amazing rain forest. With almost 200 inches of rain annually, there really is no place as lush and unique as Southeast Alaska. The forest floor is bountiful with all kinds of Flora and Fauna and depending on the time of season its not unusual to see deer or or salmon swimming up stream.

Port times for most folks are very limited, so we wanted to maximize your time by combining multiple activities on this tour. Plus we wanted to offer more than just a hiking tour anyway. So we made the trip to the trailhead half the adventure in itself. And how could we not stop along the shoreline of the sea along the way back? It's not unheard of to see Porpoises, Seals and Sea Lions or sometimes Humpbacks from the beach.

Stop At: Ketchikan Kayak Company, Ketchikan, AK

Electric assist bicycles are bicycles. You pedal them and shift gears like any other bike. They are very quiet in operation and are not classified as a motorized vehicle. However, when you want a little boost in your ride just twist the throttle and you'll quickly see why e-bikes are so much fun to ride. These bikes are powerful and seriously cool. We can cover more distance using e-bikes than conventional bicycles, you don't have to worry about keeping up, and they are the perfect way to get just the amount of exercise you're after. They are very accommodating with a step-through frame so you don't have to throw a leg over the bike to get on and off. We recharge our e-bikes with hydro power so they are a clean source of fun. Our tour usually max's out at 8 people, so no chance of getting lost in the crowd.

We were greeted at the airport and taken straight to the rain forest where we were treated to bears and magical beauty! This excursion was one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to Alaska!

Our guide was awesome (unfortunately I’m terrible with names, so I don’t remember his name). Communication was good. Meeting on the pier went as described which is a bonus. The eco bike part of the tour was fun, not Overly strenuous. The rainforest hike was nice. The guide took his time, telling us about the trees and the mushrooms that we found. We saw salmon that had just started jumping up the river. Even saw a harbor seal at the mouth of the river. The guide showed us where we should look for bear, but we did not see any (which was probably for the best). Guide took his time and was very personable. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would book again when back in ketchikan

Had a great excursion, riding e-bikes to a state park/forest and then a beautiful hike through a rain forest. The hike was highlighted by watching thousands of salmon spawning and watching a mother bear feasting on salmon while her cubs watched from a nearby tree. I highly recommend this trip.

We loved everything about this but especially loved the rain forest. Salmon were still swimming up stream, the beach was at low tide and the seagulls were having lunch. The forest has huge old trees and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the plants there.

Fun activity... bikes were great and hike was beautiful. Our guide was a little reserved and didn't share much... but she was knowledgeable. We had fun watching the salmon try to make it up the rapids! After, they had a wonderful fire with delicious snacks and drinks. All in all a good day!

Eric (my guide from Ketchikan Kayak Company) did a exemplary job during both the biking and hiking portion of my ecotour. He was both knowledgeable and customer friendly.

My wife and I had an excellent experience today on the e-bike and rainforest tour. Our guide Danyel was excellent. They do provide you with rain pants and a rain jacket. I would recommend also wearing waterproof shoes. Prior to our bike ride we did see several humpback whales from the back deck. On the tour itself you ride the e-bike about 5 miles to literally the end of the road and then take a short hike through the rainforest. We saw bald eagles, seals, salmon going up a waterfall, as well as the whales we saw prior to the trip. It is as strenuous as you want to make the bike ride. You can use the electric motor on the bike the whole time or pedal the whole time. The hike is beautiful through a rainforest and to the shore.

We loved the rain forest. Our guide, Danielle, was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us detailed information about the flora as well as the geography of the area. The small group allowed for a great experience.

Had an awesome time despite pouring rides. Bikes provide heavy duty assist. Scenery was awesome. Hike provides vistas of dense, beautiful vegetation and a momma bear with her cub. Knowledgeable and passionate guides. Authentic, versus a canned script. Heavy duty rain pants, hooded jacket and helmet covers were provided to make the excursion viable despite the pouring rain. Hot chocolate ( with spirits optional) to celebrate the ride…around a fire pit in a heated shelter. Great way to see Ketchikan!!

We had an awesome day biking and hiking. The ebike was SO fun! On the hike we saw a Mama bear catching fish in the stream and her 2 babies watching her from a tree above. It was incredible. Our tour guide, Danielle, was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour!
